Instant Pot, oh how I adore you!

I am not sure how I have lived so long with out the Instant Pot.  So, let me start out by saying that I had been looking for about a year at electric pressure cookers and one of my absolute favorite kitchen stores had one that I kept eyeing, however the price was a bit high and I was very uneasy about buying it when I didn’t know how it would truly work.  I was so happy when I saw that Amazon had the Instant Pot the day after Thanksgiving as a Black Friday deal—I jumped at the chance and purchased it.  Little did I know that this kitchen item would literally change the way I cook, which is why I want all of you to not only buy one, but get ready, because I am beginning my Instant Pot series THIS WEEK and I want you to be ready.

Ok, so for those of you that do not know what the Instant Pot is all about, them me begin to explain all of the features and some of the ways I use it- first off, the Instapot is a multifunctional kitchen appliance. Yes, MULTIFUNCTIONAL– from being an electric pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker, to a steamer; the Instant Pot makes it easy to cook soup, meat & stews, beans & chili, poultry, rice, grains, and yogurt (I have not tried this yet, but its on my list of must do things to try in this awesome machine).  What also makes the Instant Pot  much different then your slow cooker is that you can sauté in it, SCORE! The other night I made chili and was able to sauté my onions, garlic, peppers, and meat, then add the remaining ingredients and in 35 minutes my chili was done.  One pot cooking and I was able to leave the house because it will switch to warm once it is finished cooking.  What makes this even better, yes, there is more, you have each function button that automatically sets the time for you so there is NO GUESSING! Now, there are times when I need to set the time myself, for instance when I poach frozen chicken breasts- there is a manual button and you can set the time for as long as you need.  This can be a trial and error but that is where I come in handy.

The reason I thought it would be fun to create a whole Instant Pot series was because I have been getting so many questions about it and how I use it, plus some of my friends wanted more recipes made specifically for the Instant Pot, which made me realize there was a need for it.  So, this will be day 1 one of the series- first thing, if you do not own one of these amazing machines, then I need you to click below and get one NOW! It is easy and will be to your doorstep in no time.

Next up, if you have not already signed up to have all of my blog posts and recipes delivered to your email, do so now. It is easy and I do not share your email…this way, every time there is a new post or recipe you will not miss out.

That is it for now, I cannot wait to share all that I have learned about the Instant Pot and to get started sharing recipes with you.
